The first Taiwan CAA 147 Maintenance Training Organization - China Airlines Technical Training Center (CTC)
China airlines became the first operator who owns its maintenance training center when China Airlines Technical Training Center (CTC) was authorized as Taiwan CAA 147 training organization by Taiwan CAA on October 16, 2015. To meet increasing maintenance needs, China Airlines Technical Training Center aims to enhance international aviation maintenance qualities.
CTC will launch its two-stage operation. At stage 1, it will focus on type training by providing CAA-compliant license conversion training and type training for maintenance engineers. These aircraft types include Boeing 737,747, 777 and Airbus 320, 330, 340, 350. At stage 2, basic training will be conducted to provide aircraft maintenance fundamental and practical skills for new recruits.
China Airlines has invested NTD$50 million in establishing 8 classrooms for its theoretical training and examination and 1 Practical Training Workshop to allow hands-on practice for trainees. State-of-the-art maintenance training suites of B777 and A350 have been set-up in the CTC training facilities. Maintenance personnel and engineers will receive initial training in the new B777 VMT and A350 ACT classrooms. These training software are operationally oriented, scenario-based programs focused on a ‘learning by doing’ approach. It allows for both theoretical – with animated system descriptions – and practical troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
China Airlines Technical Training Center welcomes training requests from global customers in the aviation industry and is aggressively seeking to obtain 147 maintenance training organization approval from CAAC and EASA.
